Intex Projects are transforming the University College Birmingham (UCB)

Over the past year, the Intex team has been diligently working on several projects for UCB, and we’re excited to now share our latest venture – the transformation of the 6th Form facilities! We’re in the midst of this exciting project, converting two floors of open office space into cutting-edge teaching facilities, complete with advanced science laboratories. And that’s just the beginning – we’re also giving the building a remarkable facelift, encompassing a new entrance, internal reception, and a brand-new roof.

Upon completion, UCB 6th Form will boast a completely revamped Mechanical and Electrical infrastructure, a welcoming entrance, and a fully weatherproof environment. Our project features include new mechanical ventilation, state-of-the-art lighting, and carefully designed, versatile learning spaces that cater to both traditional classroom settings and relaxed open learning areas.

Our close collaboration with local councils sets this project apart, as we seamlessly navigate this live environment to ensure that everything wraps up on time, allowing UCB students to transition effortlessly. We uphold a commitment to transparency, maintaining open lines of communication with the University at every turn and offering a clear breakdown of costs.

We embarked on this journey during the early days of summer, and we’re on track to deliver this transformation early in the new year. With a project value of £5 million, the fit-out transformation and carefully thought-out design elements of UCB’s new 6th form learning environments are poised to be truly exceptional, ensuring an outstanding experience for students and the entire UCB community.

We eagerly anticipate sharing more updates as we continue this project.
